Nerea has an interesting apparently seamless construction with a decorative and elegant feathery caliper cable along the sleeves and neckline. The sweater is knitted sideways, in two halves, beginning from the sleeve cuff moving on to the body. The body is constructed by a double sided provisional crochet cast-on leaving an invisible seam and then grafted down the centre front and back using Russian grafting.

MATERIALS
Yarn: 3 (4, 4, 5, 5, 5) skeins of BFL Masham DK by Woolly Mammoth Fibre Company (75% BFL, 25% Masham, 262 yds / 240 m – 100 g), colourway Peony, or approx. 800 (900, 1000, 1100, 1200, 1300) yds / 732 (823, 915, 1006, 1098, 1189) m of DK weight yarn.

Needles: US 5 / 3.75 mm 32” / 80 cm (or longer) and 16” / 40 cm (or shorter) circular needles, or DPNs for stockinette stitch. US 7 / 4.5 mm 32” / 80 cm (or longer) and 16” / 40 cm (or shorter) circular needles, or DPNs for linen stitch.
Crochet hook of approx. US 5 / 3.75 mm for provisional CO and Russian BO.
Note: If changing needle size, it might be necessary to wrap more or less times for the caliper cable.

Notions: Scrap yarn in contrasting colour and fibre for provisional CO, scrap yarn or spare cables and cable stoppers, cable extenders (optional), stitch markers.

GAUGE
22 sts x 29 rows to 4” / 10 cm on US 5 / 3.75 mm needles in st st, before blocking.
21 sts x 30 rows to 4” / 10 cm on US 5 / 3.75 mm needles in st st, after blocking.

Gauge is very important for the fit of this garment. If the stitch gauge is off the body might turn out longer or shorter than described and it will be difficult to fix afterwards.
